we never know what he’s gonna say

We went to eat at Pizza Hut last night after visiting with Scott’s mom on the way home from my parent’s house (Scott picked Caleb and I up at the halfway point in between). We sat down at the table and ordered our drinks. Scott said “I’d like a Pepsi.” I said “I’d like a Mountain Dew.” Caleb said “And I’d like some chicken nuggets!” The waitress started laughing. Did I mention she was like the best waitress ever? They didn’t really have anything for kids to drink. We had a sippy cup with a bottom full of milk. So she brought us a cup of pink lemonade for him to try and didn’t charge us. He liked it. He did so good for the whole meal, never asked one time to get down and go. When she left our check she told him bye. Then she said “See you later alligator.” He thought about it for a sec, and said “After while crocodile!” She didn’t understand him at first and she looked toward me and it dawned on her about the time she started to ask me. I though she was going to melt into the floor! I heard her run into the kitchen and tell another girl about it.
He’s so funny how he picks up on little sayings like that, and uses them correctly. We were at the table at Mom and Dad’s and my mom said something. Dad said “Me too.” Without even stopping to think, Caleb said “Me three!” My parents just looked at me with their mouths hanging open. He was a riot. I think I mentioned that he has taken to saying “I give up” in this pitiful voice when he doesn’t get his way. Well I heard him go over and sit in a corner and say “I give up, nobody can hear me. Nobody ever hears me.” I felt like breaking out into a song “Nobody knows the troubles I’ve seen……”
He is watching Monster Jam on TV right now. He couldn’t love it more. I think we are going in January, I just need to find money for tickets!

aww aww AWWW! That is too preciuos! He is so smart!! I’m jealous you can bring your kid to a restaurant after being in the car for so long and being off his schedule for days AND he was good!!!! lol Don’t ya wish you could carry a voice recorder around!! I think we might try Santa today because I don’t know if when Mat will have another day off where we have laundry, grocery shopping, and other random “honey-do” jobs done! Aidan will be in heaven seeing Santa but I can already tell you Ashie is going to scream!! lol
