the golden hour

In photography, the golden hour is defined as the hour after sunrise and the hour just before sunset. It is typically the most flattering light. If you look, really look, outside as the sun comes up, you will see everything is bathed in a very soft light that seems to mute the colors and give everything a misty feel. And just before sunset, colors become bold and rich with the last golden rays of the fading sun.
I got out of bed this morning and headed straight for the desk drawer where my camera lives. Out the door in a tshirt. Yikes it’s cold! But still worth it to catch those early morning rays.

The picture taken just two hours later doesn’t have have same glow.

The pictures of our “first winter” snow are awesome. Looks like Caleb had the best time ever playing in the snow. He is a perfect model, very handsome. I love every picture; precious memories!
AWESOME……..
PS. The older Caleb gets the more he looks like his MOM and that of course is a good thing! Sorry DAD…Hope to see you soon.

I love this! I, too, have been noticing that golden light. It’s so special, and you’re right- a little while later and it isn’t there!! Beautiful!!
