Scott’s van is in the shop getting a new water pump and tires. Meanwhile, he got to drive the Blue Beast (a ’77 Blazer) home, his boss’s truck. He pulled in and scared Caleb to death reving the engine to make is up the slope in the driveway. This morning, Caleb went to the window and peered out. He said, “Look Mommy, it’s not Daddy’s ban [van], it’s a blueneck truck!” You know…instead of a redneck truck… Why does he know the word redneck? I must take credit for that one. We have some neighbors across the street… No one that lives there works, they have several VERY loud vehicles ranging from a Harley to a 70′s model Chevy truck to the prom king of all redneck cars, a late 80′s Pontiac Firebird. And no redneck family is complete without chickens, goats, roosters, a really loud donkey, some mangy looking horses, guineas, and geese roaming freely, as well as several sheds behind the house that look like they may collapse at any given second. So they have been deemed “The Rednecks” and of course Caleb picked up on it. I’m quite sure it will backfire on me at some point.
