I have this habit of referring to anything before 7am as the buttcrack of dawn. Ah, yes, I don’t do mornings so well. I would much rather be a night owl who is late to rise than an early bird who goes to bed before all the good shows come on tv. Our family has always operated on a bit later schedule than most people. Scott used to work 2nd shift, so he didn’t get home until 12 or 1 some nights. Caleb has always gone to bed later than most kids, but he gets up later than most. I’m not sure why I’m explaining all of this. I do have a point, really. I think I feel the need to defend his late bedtime because I recently read a argument online about bedtimes where people were scoffing at parents who weren’t “taking responsibility” and putting their children to bed “on time.” None seemed to consider that not everyone operates on their 9-5 “normal” schedule. Most of those people probably leave for work by 7:30am right? Scott NEVER leaves before 9. We’re lucky to be stirring by 8:30 some mornings. And somehow all of this relates back to my need to explain where he got the word buttcrack from. Yep that would be me. But the indoor sandbox balances all of this out right? I mean I do get extra credit for that!

He’s playing Hullabaloo, because Lord knows he needs all the listening practice he can get.  No I didn’t sit on the couch the whole time, just the last round.  But seriously, who has that kind of luck?  He’s barely listening and just happens to trip on thin air, landing on the winning spot (out of 16 pads).  I don’t know where he got it from, but I *think* he’s saying “Bend and roll baby!”  Oh should I spell that bay-bah.
