southern snow

The laws of southern snow:
- If there are flakes, regardless of their position, sky or ground, school is canceled.
- If snow is forecast, the bread and milk will be picked clean and the grocery store will be a madhouse from T minus 48 hours and counting (when we think it might make it over the mountains).
- If the snow does actually make it to the ground and doesn’t melt on impact, you go outside. Right then. Because it will be gone by lunchtime.
We woke up to a white tissue this morning, I say tissue because blanket would definitely be overdoing it seeing as how it didn’t make it through the leafless tree branches to fall around the trunks of trees.

He found the only frozen puddle with a layer of ice that could be walked on (and slipped on) but unable to withstand the impact of his feet flying out from under him and 35lbs crashing down on his butt. Which equals wet butt.

We probably look a bit under-dressed. Looks can be deceiving. I put him in his long john style Christmas pajamas, socks pulled over the cuffs, a pair of cotton pants, a long sleeve shirt, a hooded sweatshirt, and jeans, plus hat and gloves. Although, falling into above said puddle did get the most inner layers damp.

This reminds me of Ralphie for some reason (A Christmas Story)

He couldn’t hold onto the string for his little pull toy dog. I could tell a meltdown was brewing on the horizon. So I tied the string to a little hook loop on his gloves. Problem solved.

We had about 2 feet of the crap here in the Pacific Northwest right before Christmas. I would have gladly handed it all over to you. Glad Caleb got to enjoy the tissue!

So, are his eyes turning green? For some reason I thought they were blue but they look green in the “Ralphie” picture. Either way, gorgeous! We got a tissue this morning. Wynnie was scared at first but by the second trip she was galloping like a crazy dog and I was holding on for dear life. Unlike Caleb, I do NOT weigh 35lbs and have a feeling a slip up would be much more detrimental to my derriere than to his! LOL!

Oh yeah, LOVE the tall grass pics. It’s now my desktop pic in the spirit of the surprise snow we got.
