remind me to never do this again

My stress right now is through the roof. I feel like a giant rubberband ball. There is so much going on and I have so much to do. Turns out toddlers respond to perceived stress by acting out and behaving generally like a child you wouldn’t claim. Thus you can imagine what this does for the stress level. I feel like death warmed over. Allergies and a cold together do not equal fun.
We’re heading over the the new house when Caleb gets up from his nap (which he is trying to eliminate from his daily routine, and I’m desperately trying to keep). I have my bucket full of natural homemade cleaners all ready to go! We are going to start painting tonight. I makes me lightheaded to think that we will be moved and sleeping there in eleven days.
Yesterday I was on the phone with a friend. I had forgotten that at one point over the weekend, I had checked the TV schedule for Monster Jam. I found a listing for Tuesday at 5pm. I set it to autotune the TV to the program. Caleb started squealing and flipping out in the living room. He came tearing in the kitchen and screamed something in this high pitched inaudible voice and ran back in the living room. I peaked around the corner and he was jumping up and down in front of the TV clapping and chanting Gravedigger over and over! Needless to say, I think it will be worth it to find big-show tickets. The show we went to was no less than spectacular for us, being the first time, but the coliseum was pretty small. We would like to go to a show where they have a lot more room, I believe Atlanta is the closest. The older he gets, the more priceless his reaction will become. When we went this past January, my Dad came by a few days before. He asked Caleb where he was going that weekend. Caleb replied, “Monster Jam! Are you EXCITED??!” My Dad started laughing and said “Yeeeah!” He wasn’t even going, but the excitement in Caleb’s voice was enough to give anyone a chuckle. He ran and got his big collection of truck yesterday so that he could match them on the TV when he saw them. They were showing Best-Of clips from the 2007 World Finals. They actually had 5 Gravedigger drivers freestyle all at once. It was incredible! The show lasted until all five trucks were flipped over. In true Digger style…about three minutes. Yes we are proud to be living the homestate of Gravedigger, and several other Monster Jam drivers.

I feel for ya. We’ve moved quite a bit, it can be very overwhelming, especially with kids. If anything, try and get Caleb’s room set up first, it will help with the transition to have a familiar spot right away. But really, it isn’t so bad… Kids adjust pretty quickly. And the painting… I’m sure you want to get it done right away but, in some ways it is easier once you are actually living in the house.
Also, in some states (I know for sure in CA), if the owners want to sell the house and boot the tenants, they need to pay a relocation fee. You should check into that… It could be your new fridge AND dishwasher!!
