our tree of gratitude

I found this idea on the HP website (scroll down to tree of gratitude). All you have to do is print and cut! They actually have a variety of things to use for a fall party or Thanksgiving dinner, including invitations and decorations, but this is meant to be the centerpiece. The idea is to send a few leaves to each person who you are inviting. They write what they are thankful for on the leaves, and bring them along to hang on the tree at the meal. The tree is just a few gathered branches from outside. You could use whatever you’d like though. Of course, it could probably look better in a glass container, but we are pinchin’ pennies right now for Christmas, so giftwrapped coffee can it is. Caleb probably isn’t old enough to understand, put it is still a neat project. I asked him in more of a yes no question format after explaining that thankful meant things in your life that make you happy and you are glad to have. For example, are you glad to have books to read? Are you excited about Christmas, and of course he replied, “new toys.” As you can see we still have more leaves to add to our tree, but with Thanksgiving drawing near, I thought I’d go ahead and post this. Wow, where did September, October and half of November go?!
