on growing up…

Yesterday, while visiting Caleb’s grandmother, we were talking about how fast he is growing up.  She said her mother used to always say that the kids were growing up too fast, they needed to slow down.  When Caleb woke up from his nap today, he brought up the subject.  I was cradling him in my arms like a baby and telling him he was getting so big.

After a few minutes, he trailed along behind me saying, “I wish I could grow up big like you.”

I replied, “You will one day.”

“Then I could reach all the things I possibly wanted on top of the TV!” he said.  And really, what other reason is there.  Certainly not jobs and bills.  Just the treasures that the top of the TV cabinet holds.

    Ahh, too cute.

    But I agree, they grow up too fast. I wish there was a button to turn them off for a while….for many reasons!
