When I look back at these pictures years from now, I will be glad there was vacuuming to be done, dishes in the sink and laundry to be washed. Because sometimes what matters is just being in the moment, getting messy, and seeing through the eyes of a child.
If you are on dial up, I’m so sorry. Just run on up the road to Starbucks, this should be almost done when you get back. Do what? Oh it is seventy two miles away? Well take your time. Like I said, it should be about done when you get home.
We started off all nice and neat.

I showed him how to paint, then fold the paper over.

We started looking around for alternative paint brushes

Every time he got paint on him, he made this face. Sometimes I have to remind him that getting dirty is okay. Sometimes he doesn’t mind, sometimes it drives him nuts!

I was laughing at him, telling him messy was okay, and he looked at me like I was preaching nonsense.

I think I actually spit drink through my nose when I saw this one.

Things got messy fast

I tried to get him to paint his belly, but he wasn’t too interested.

This little ant got himself into this trouble. I swear I didn’t encourage painting him. He crawled through several colors though.

He got paint all over the bottom of his feet

These detail photos are some of my favorites

Wonderful photos! I like the detail ones too, but I have to tell you, the one when he has his hands on his hips and kind of a crooked grin is waaaaaaay too cute!
This looks like fun- I’m going to keep it in mind to do with Daniel one of these days.
