mind your manners

I remember worrying when Caleb was first born…would I be able to teach him manners? I never worried about taking care of a newborn. That was “easy.” Draining, both physically and emotionally, yes. But a newborn’s needs are pretty basic. I never realized that the most useful teaching tool of manners would simply be using them every day.

We went out to eat for dinner tonight. Caleb watched carefully as I placed my napkin in my lap. He then got a napkin, unfolded it, and draped it across his knees in the booth. Of course it was on the floor about 30 seconds later, but it was so cute!

We have a HUGE Disney Cars fan here. We saw a trophy in a store the other day and he said “Wook Mommy a Lightning McQueen Piston Cup!” Tonight, the waitress set the pizza stand on our table with our plates on it before the pizza came. “Weh-me see yigh-ying piston cup [let me see lightning piston cup],” he said.
