Found your site thru a google search. I know this is an old post but I just had to leave a comment anyway. This sounds like something I need to tell my mom, we no longer speak to each other. Seems to me that you are a fantastic mom!

Your site is adorable and I enjoy reading your blog posts and admiring your photography skills!

Rachel, Frank just forwarded the link to your site ...you are so talented!! I love seeing the pics of the :little Prince"- too cute...you made me bawl my eyes out with the story of the family that lost all 3 of their children.I can only imagine their pain.... as for this comment about moms trying to control your life...i fully understand. We could chat for hours about that. Good for you for standing up. Good for your mom for wanting only the best for you - we can understand that now that we have kids of our own. Just remind yourself that she means well no matter how hard it is to listen to someone else (even Mom) question your abilities as a parent. You are raising YOUR beautiful child. God has blessed YOU with that wonderfully glorious overwhelming task. My mom and Frank's mom both tried the same tactics when Lauren was first born. I began to question my every move because nothing I did was even remotely near right. Finally I was like you and had enough. After speaking my mind, I spent a miserable period of time not speaking/visiting and then eventually they warmed to the idea that I was grown - not a child and I was more than capable of raising a child. I admire you for your independence and just from hearing about Caleb - I know you are doing an excellent job. Our parents have dreams for us but we don't live in perfect worlds so we make our lives work best for ourselves and our children.
Much love, Cousin Kim
