I am finally close to having my website about where I want it. I recieved a call from a quite courteous Go Daddy (hosting) representative today. I am quite impressed that they call each new customer. And not just a impersonal call either. He was looking at my website as we talked, and commented on some things! I had seen some people (on the wordpress forums) say that they had problems hosting their wordpress blogs with go daddy. I can say nothing but good things so far! Set up was easy and straight forward. I had no problems installing wordpress or anything. I am working on the gallery of Boogaman. I found a plugin today that appeased my troubles with NextGen gallery. I still like NextGen a little better, but I’m settling for myGallery. I was/am determined to have my pictures open with Lightbox. NextGen came set up with Thickbox. I don’t like Thickbox. I don’t want Thickbox. And no one wishes to explain how to install Lightbox instead. I’m sure it is not terribly hard, but I don’t write code, understand code, this is all trial and error for me. I have only scratched the surface. Yes, my website looks completely different from its original theme, but it is all cosmetic, I assure you. And it probably took me twice as long as it would have taken someone else. So anyhow, myGallery does nearly the same thing as the NextGen gallery. The way the album displays is a little different, but I’m going to try to change myGallery to look more like NextGen’s. If you click on Gallery from my homepage, I would rather the albums just be little squares with the picture and title instead of stretching the width of the content area so that each album is on a different line. I know, silly, but that’s my hangup. There I said it. The display of the pictures once you’re inside the album (such as March 2005) is pretty much the same.
On a totally different note, I’m grossed out. Caleb dipped his cold hot dog in blueberry yogurt and popped it in his mouth. Egh. Nasty. He is currently enthralled in playing “boat” with an apple wedge, and a toothpick mast, capped off with a hot dog slither. Such imagination this kid has. The blueberry yogurt coating everything makes a quite lovely ocean.
