So Scott’s ex decided not to pay her car tax, back in TWO THOUSAND THREE. And it is coming back to bite us in the ass. Although Scott was never ‘allowed’ to drive the car, he cosigned on the loan, thus applying his name to the title. The car was sold in 2004, so she just never paid the tax on it. Alamance County now has a block on our registration until that debt is satisfied, which has now grown to over $100! The Explorer is due this month (a whopping $17 bucks of the $138 grand total). I’m just pissy about it. Life isn’t fair and I need to gripe. It isn’t our responsibility! We are still hoping she will magically pay (we have about a month left to deal with it). I have decided that we will just have to put the car in my name if she doesn’t pay. It is the simple principle. We aren’t paying her debt. Period. I’m stubborn about things like that. Boy this is all jumbled up and not making all that much sense. So I’m done.
