don’t slip on the bark

The other day Caleb was sitting at the table with a banana.  Despite having asked for the snack, he didn’t eat a single bite.  He broke off a piece to share with me (and squeezed it, slobbered on it, rolled it across the table, and poked at it several times, thanks, yummy, I can’t wait!).  He then said that it needed to be peeled, as there was no longer exposed banana.  I could see his mind working, trying to decide what the proper name would be, and then he said, “I don’t eat banana…long pause…bark.  Yeah, I don’t eat banana bark, blegh.”
