We got a wonderful and unexpected Valentine’s surprise…a couple inches of snow! It started last night, but Scott said the high for today was projected in the 50′s! Once it stopped last night, I went outside to get some pictures just in case it was already melting when I woke up. I needed proof you know. It snows so rarely here now. All of these pictures were taken between 12:30 and 1:30am!! I slowed the shutter speed down to 15-30 seconds! Like shutter opens, go fix a cup of coffee and come back, then it closes! The composition isn’t exactly the best, but I had so much fun. I love the way the light looks. Like you can’t quite figure out what is going on. Despite feeling like a popsicle, I told Scott I could have stayed out there all night experimenting. I even had to use the timer function on the camera to avoid having to press the shutter button. My hand pressing the button would have blurred the picture. So most of these pictures took 40 seconds to take, 10 seconds until the timer went off and the picture began taking, and then 30 seconds until the exposure was complete and the shutter closed.
